Yars Recharged is the latest title from Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox, the team behind the Atari Recharged series, which combines elements of arcade, shooting, and hell into the classic formula. Yars: Recharged requires players to stay alert to visual and audio cues that signal imminent danger, and master the rhythm of each boss as they navigate increasingly complex enemy defenses, all to an epic soundtrack. As someone who enjoyed Revenge of Yar, I can say that they have done a great job in reviving the game for its day and age. If you are a fan of the classic game or enjoy good arcade games and are looking for something new, this is worth picking up.

Main features:

• Arcade mode: Boss rush from 30 enemies. It is not infinite, but it is very difficult to reach the end of this mode. Three hits and you die, but don’t worry, the hit count resets when moving on to the next battle.
• Missions: 30 unique, challenging bosses and only one life to beat each one. Like Gravitar: Recharged, there is one global leaderboard for the mission mode, so you need to be on your game. The boss makes for a challenge, so you’ll either need to keep those heads down with a load of bullets or start with the smaller Cores first and work your way up to the boss.
• Power: Small Cors will emit power when connected. Fire in all directions at once, rapid fire, explosive projectiles, or fire an iron weapon – the nature of the force depends on the nature of the core that fired it.
• Co-op: Yars Recharged is a local co-op game in both arcade and mission mode, a great change from the original and fun for you and a friend.

I’ve never played an Atari 2600 one but, this one is pretty cool. The game is so much fun, it also runs great on the Deck. I say buy Yars Recharged ASAP If you come with Nostalgia for Yars Revenge, yes.. this game definitely gives Yars Revenge vibes !! Nostalgia aside, If you’re looking for a fast-paced arcade shooter game to pass the time.. like Geometry Wars.
