Treasures of the Aegean is a very interesting puzzle-based parkour platformer with a historical myth focusing on the lost Minoan civilization that is trapped in an endless time loop with our main character, Marie.
Gameplay
Play as Mary as she slowly discovers the news around history and the treasures around the lost ruins that have been revealed by prophecy and does everything before the next eruption in this unstable geographical formation so that within it The hidden story can be slowly uncovered.
The game gives you something that seems like a very short time limit to start – first about 15 minutes for the loop and then after you spend more time and discover more ancient specimens the story moves on to the future. Reaches a long time. Everything she comes up with is her treasure hunting methods. The game gives you more time to loot more.
Puzzles are a lot of fun in this game, some you have to do many times, it has sets of puzzles that need to be solved as a package, and they are interrelated. If you reach the end of the previous loop and one is left, they will all be reset. None of this is so irrational in terms of length, but most of them require planning and then adhering to a considerable amount of time, so gameplay can feel challenging at times. ۔
Controls
The game works very well with the controller and I used to play this game. I also tested the keyboard and it works without any problems. What appears on the controls and the screen is what I would say to be smooth and fluid, and exactly what I want to see in the 2D Parkour platform.
Graphics
The artwork in this game is amazing, everything has the feel of a comic book and it is arranged from the introductory scenes of the story. The main game has some really nice biomes that look absolutely stunning and the background / background details really make you feel like a modern-day guest in a long-lost hidden world.
Music and sounds
The music is fun to listen to and doesn’t have a lot of sound effects, but the motion/jumping and noise effects are all there to add to this smooth feeling of platforming.
Conclusion
Treasures of the Aegean is a very fun parkour platform with a time loop component and some internal puzzles that can be used. It has its flaws, but there are also many things that make it an attractive title for a strong recommendation.
