PES 2014: Pro Evolution is a soccer game. Compared to its predecessor, the biggest change is of a technical nature: a completely different engine. It’s great that Konami took the plunge this year with the new engine, which is really worth it. The matches are more realistic than ever, the animations are great, and the atmosphere in the stadium, which I always complained about in recent years, has improved a lot.

Of course, not everything is the best, for example, replays are fun and some quick animations could be better, but the bottom line is that PES 2014 delivers exactly what you expected thanks to the new engine. An excellent, fun and always challenging football simulation that is accessible to beginners (thanks to new aiming aids and a comprehensive training mode), but also allows veterans to take care of many details, such as defining running routes. And in multiplayer mode, PES moves in front of a screen as usual!

It’s rarely been so hard for me to give a rating before because you can really feel the potential behind PES 2014 every minute. The mid-range gameplay is fantastic and the new graphics engine is excellent. Anyway, the status quo has to decide – and it looks like Fox’s engine still has various teething problems.

I sincerely hope that the developers will fix a few issues with patches in the near future and then really move forward with the next generation version. After all, they now have a year-long trial. The potential is definitely there, as is the fan base. Overall Recommended Game !!
