The world of Illuminaria is divided into five regions, the Forest, Tundra, Desert, Volcano, and Dark Dimension. Your adventure begins in the southernmost region, the Forest, a vast area that was once teeming with monsters and lived in harmony with the Illumi (people of the Illuminaria). However, these regions are now teeming with monsters and dark creatures. The Illumi created robots in the hope that they could combat the darkness that permeates the lands of Illuminaria.

Each of the five regions has a choice of three difficulties, Easy, Normal, and Hard. After deciding which difficulty to play you will find yourself on a regional world map. Each of the regions has a number of caves, which are the main areas you will visit and you must complete a number of objectives in each.

As you enter the cave, you will see a cut in the floor, this area will be your storage area where you can store your equipment. Before storing any supplies, you will first need to create a wall, cutting out the space according to how big you want to make your storage space. Once you have circled your warehouse a Plus Symbol will appear, selecting this icon will allow you to add a product that will be stored in that warehouse until needed.

There are three trips to each location on the regional world map, you have short, medium, and long trips. You will need to complete the short journey then you will unlock the medium after completing this one and you will also unlock the long journey. After completing the tour, you will learn a bit more about the history of the Illuminaria and its Illumi people.

Completing the cave requires you to collect the necessary materials, which can be found above the warehouse layout where the beacon can be found. Putting the wall down will connect to the beacon once you open the last tile after collecting the necessary materials.

Once the cave is completed you can continue to the next one, however, you can still go back to the previous cave and use the resources you have there. Each of these caves can be found at the bottom right of the screen for easier use than jumping back and forth between them. You will need to jump back and forth between each of the caves especially when the cave is attacked.
