Electric Sleep is a short pixel art visual novel. After you wake up again in a strange laboratory, but each time in a new mood, you explore a ruined world as a sentient robot. Each game is very short and will take about 5-10 minutes. But there are 44 different endings, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to search for answers and discover how each emotion colors your experience of the world.

I certainly find this idea very interesting. Although they are all short ‘paths’, they have many meaningful options. The captivating voice acting and beautiful writing skillfully let us experience all those emotions. You can not go in that pregnant atmosphere.

The Electric Sleep sets itself apart from all other visual novels. It has a calm feel to it and it’s all like an inner monologue, something a person would have if they went through all the things that the robot was going through.

I really liked that every awakening meant more puzzle pieces. So there is constant discovery and different emotions are also experienced. So, regardless of your personality type, you will not always, but sometimes, interact with the robot.

Try Electric Sleep, preferably at night, with everything quiet, so it’s just you, the sounds of the game world, and the thoughts of the robot. 🙂
I immediately fell in love with this game, and it only got better from there. With great writing and music, it’s a fascinating and entertaining look at how emotions change our perspective and shape our world. It’s mostly text, with stunning pixel art images providing illustrations for what you’re reading and the music changing to match your mood and mood as you progress. Definitely not for everyone, but if you think you might enjoy it, you probably will. It holds a special place in my heart.

Although I guess the game is perfectly designed to get the message across. You can’t really control anything (forget the normal calming settings), just a constant cycle of waking up and doomed to failure exploring the abandoned world. Very atmospheric experience. Then the feeling of discomfort I had turned into a kind of mood. I don’t think I’ll ever repeat it but it’s nice when the game makes you think and feel some emotion pulling you into the intuitive atmosphere.
