Crusade in Europe

On that day there were many Games related to D-day. Like D-Day invade America or Overlord But this is an all-time classic and one of my favorites. NOTE: Atari-8bit is the best version of Dos.

The game has several versions. You can play as the Allies or the Germans, You can have characters like Rommel in Normandy instead of Calais. Or else Hitler is more successful in his plans which gives the Germans a small advantage.

As the title suggests, the focus of the play is the European Theater of World War II in 1944-45, and specifically the Normandy Invasion. Although there are only five scenarios, each one can be customized with many variations (with different starting splits and reinforcement schemes) and difficulty levels.

Another cool feature is the ability to play using traditional board game symbols or unit icons. Both sides (Ally and Land) can be played, and two players can play head-to-head in hot-seat mode.

The first of the Commander series of tactical wargames released by MicroProse in the mid-1980s, Crusade is the European descendant of Meier’s first wargame, NATO Commander. Sid Meier and Ed Bever, Ph.D., collaborated on the design of Crusade, which (along with the game’s manual) shows great research and attention to historical detail.
