Winter Resort Simulator 2 is a great Video Game! Although there are some improvements they need to make, they are with every game. Fair warning, when buying this game make sure you buy the bundle because otherwise, you will only get twenty games. It is an extensive simulation of the ski area with all its exciting technical facilities and vehicles.
PROS
- A reasonable choice of chairlift and gondola to choose from.
- The developer was able to use the original manufacturer’s name.
- You can ride on every chairlift and gondola.
- Sandbox mode for those who want to mess with everything and for those who want their own winter resort.
- A reasonable choice of ground vehicles for driving.
CONS
- “Ropeways” with touch screen controls at each station were not programmed/copied to allow you to click on any possible button.
- The sim will freeze randomly / will not allow me to use all the binds, thus there will be no choice but to force the sim off.
- I only got career mode to work once, and it was only for “first” career mode (without 2 next to it). Now they all crash before they are fully loaded.
For those who had doubts about Season 1, I strongly urge you to reconsider (especially since there is no additional charge). The multiplayer is very smooth, and they did a really good job of improving performance. I have been able to play in multiplayer with every elevator running with 6 people and no problem. The new snow system is fantastic too! It looks so good and it’s so small. The content pack is also really fun, and the Holstein V2 is great. I hope you keep updating the game. it’s awesome!
Great game, especially for those of us who like the technical aspects of ski resorts (complex ropeway operations, grooming, snowmaking). It would be nice if future updates/versions included other aspects of winter resort operations (ski school, ski patrol, lodging, food/beverage service, retail) and their aspects (employees, wages, expenses, open). Allow special control overtimes. It would also be nice to have a more specific weather engine with temperature, wind, and humidity fluctuations to affect the efficiency of the ice-making process. The best ski resort simulator I’ve ever played!
