The game

The game looks absolutely gorgeous with some clever use of light and shade. While the elite enjoys the luxuries of light, and sells it as a commodity, social classification dictates that others should be plunged into darkness in order to escape punishment without taking any step. Take through ready sentinels. This game is clever in dropping gestures and suggesting similarities with modern day life, and often my mind wanders away from it because it reminds me of the events and situations that our society also acts on. It made me ask questions and consider my choices, and it was a powerful and dynamic experience.

Story

The story is a bit confusing and I must say that I did not fully understand the ending. There is no narrative, text, or voice acting and the events are there for you to interpret. I’ve played a lot of games like this and most of them just feel dull and vague but the white shadows resonate with me and ignite the emotions and take care of me. This is not a trivial feat in this type of game.

Gameplay:

Raven Girl is amazingly animated with realistic and captivating animations, and one of the best ladder-climbing animations I’ve ever seen in a bird-like character!

The sound is mediocre, but the white noise, and the constant drones of machinery and hard work, create a dark and repetitive picture of despair. There are some cinematic sequences with lyrics that lead from frustration to unnatural grief.

White Shadow is original, dynamic, and thoughtful. It left me to consider my choices in life and how cruel and unfair society can be depending on your height. This is the kind of game that enters your mind and challenges your preconceived notions, questioning your thoughts on real-life situations.
