This game is absolutely amazing! The only problem with this is that it is very addictive, all the five hours I have played were in one sitting, and I would stay up till 2 in the morning.
The main gameplay loop of “1. Play Mission 2. Get an upgrade 3. Build a new ship” is very satisfying, but the existence of a backup loop of “1. Fail Mission 2. Find out what’s wrong 3. Build a new ship “is what really makes the game impossible to stop. You always have a good idea of what you want to do next, and it’s always fun (as long as you enjoy both the combat and the design, which I do).
The huge variety that comes from the fact that you design your own ship will definitely keep me coming back for a very long time. Right now, I solve all my problems and keep as many heavy guns as they can fit, but I’m excited to try out some torpedo-based combat or even reaming.
It’s early access, so there’s a bit of junk at times, but I’m sure it will get over time, especially since the game itself has a feedback form.
