Retro Gadgets is an in-program game development platform that allows players to create and program their own old school LCD games. It offers a wide range of features and tools for players to use in their game creations, you can add different graphics and sound assets for your classic-looking LCD games. Players can use the platform’s drag-and-drop interface to easily create and customize their games, and even program them using the built-in coding feature. With retro gadgets, players can let their creativity run wild as they develop their own unique and nostalgic games.

Pros:

• A truly unique, ambitious concept with tons of potential.
• Great for making musical instruments.
• Using Lua smooths the learning curve considerably.
• Desktop Gadgets is a really cool feature.

Cons:

• (Unpopular Opinion) Gadget development feels too abstract and simplistic.
• Event/audio channels aside, components lack hard boundaries that force developers to adapt and improve.
• There is no diagonal lock on the airbrush tool.

Nice concept but of course there are many things to improve. The biggest problem is that right now, not much can be achieved without a screen, meaning there isn’t much to justify coding here when there are other ways to code like Greenfoot or Pygame. are We need more I/O components and features to make this platform truly unique so we can pick it out over others.

Overall:

Retro Gadgets Download is an amazing game, This game feels like a Zachtronic game that we can make our own games. This type of game really needs to exist and I’m excited to use it in the future. Some documents have not been written but I believe will be fixed in the near future.

The game’s menu is great for its style and I really like how the code editor feels. I learned this feature after the launch of early access that you can use your gadgets on your desktop just like you can create some gadgets to help you while doing something else on your computer. I recommend this game to all makers and aspiring makers.
