Keplerth game is really, really fun. They have live mechanisms, the production is normal and they are very well made. Not only are there a few other amazing mechanics that are very unique, and very interesting stories. There are a bunch of new games and/or EAs like this on Steam right now, but this one is by far the best by militants.
That said, the character creator is very good and has enough options to really allow for some unique visual appearances, which are often influenced by your race choice. There are many races with unique races and appearances, male and female body types for each with their own unique hair, then there are skin and hair colors.
Races look impressive, but not so much that they force you to play a race on top of each other, so I’m saying you can safely characterize yourself based on the visual style you want instead of the power level create it and make it beautiful.
Combat:
Conflict is a little easy, but it really is not a bad thing. You have both common weapons and melee weapons and at least a variety of them. I have found a hat, a sword, a spear, an ax, and much more for mela weapons, and a few cacti that you can throw, bows, and weapons for an extension. I fought with a visual chicken, the boss of a mutated zombie plant, with tons of wildlife, barbarians, and all sorts of things. Most of the battles consist of you trying to find your sweet spot where you can hit the enemy while running away and staying out of their area. Again, it’s all very simple, but it works, and it feels good.
Graphic:
Fine artwork. Clear and vivid, but very little animation. Models do not really move. Yet a nice little style. I’m researching it
Controls and UI:
Very simple and well designed. Controls are based on WASD and hotkey, Terraria / Starbound flag, etc.
Music:
Very, very nice acoustic result. The guitar is very well made. You want to keep the music going. Many games these days, you get sick of listening to music and turning it around: it’s not like that here.
Gameplay:
Where to start. Do you want to play Stardew Valley, with only real fun battles and no need to deal endlessly with NPCs? Do you want to play Terraria from a more interesting perspective but with better music and graphics? If you want to play Starbound, with better graphics, sound, music, and gameplay? Why NOT do all that with Keplerth!
There is also a really amazing story that keeps you from looking at the small pictures and opening the lore elements together. It’s like a cross between Star Trek and Numenera. Aliens, imaginary races, weapons, swords, shields of power, armor, taste, mutants, genetic modifications to develop your “spec” (Yes! This game has real features that allow you to unlock the world by examining captured DNA samples !! One of the most unique and innovative development systems I have seen, it offers a great RPG status under the basic game. TOTAL bonus!).
Pros:
- Ability to manipulate your environment and build almost anywhere.
- Free portals of different areas of the map, when discovered and activated. Good looking!
- Making (very easy to understand – no explanation needed yet)
- Agriculture (because I love to grow things! Keep finding new materials and seeing what they do!)
- Eating: watching your health etc. is necessary – but not so bad that I am constantly stressed about it. Preparation work is needed for the big battles!
- Did anyone say mounts? And can I name my mountain? Heck ya!
- Pets! (yes! It’s all about collecting and becoming a Zoo Defender! lol)
Cons:
- I would like to see more weapons:
(maybe use all the special abilities or enchant them. I just started the game and took my time, so it might really be something to do when I get more advanced. I hope so! ) - Be happy to raise my status with different races or special NPCs for bonus prizes, sweepstakes, or empty items.
- More art and ways of building or decorating my base.
Conclusion:
If you are into “building” type games, it is totally a very enjoyable game. Don’t expect it to have a Minecraft or terraria section, but with the story in place and the basic upgrade paths you can follow so, you can still develop a fun experience.
