I thought the Hooked on You A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim game was going to be a stupid little sidekick from the developers, but I was wrong. I love everything about this game. The dialogue choices were pure gold and made me laugh out loud, the way the Assassins are portrayed is fantastic, helping you know how to trick them and the art is absolutely stunning. I’ve only played and enjoyed one Assassin and I’m looking forward to trying to outsmart the rest. In all seriousness, I think this is a great game and great for a laugh, and well worth the price.

Every time I leave my house, I think of you. Will the Specters take this step forward? I do not. Then I walk back. Will breathing air make the Wraith cool? I do not. I will suffocate Will the fork satisfy you? I do not. My eyes will be dry. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to speak with my new personal role model. 10/10, worth every penny, crush it.

Gameplay

The gameplay is pretty basic as can be expected from a visual novel-style game. There are various dialogue options that will help you make the story to your liking. There are also minigames that you need to interact with during your gameplay.

Artwork

The game’s artwork is phenomenal. I love how they turned everyone’s favorite DBD characters into a cartoon/anime-ish style. Also, the backgrounds and scenes are very well done.

Sound

Unfortunately, there’s no sound here, but the game has a decent amount of ambient sounds/effects and a pretty cool soundtrack.

Bugs/Glitches

No one has come across it yet… Can you believe it?

Pros:

• Good vibes: self-aware jokes and references to the main game
• Great long game (3-6 hours per story), with good discovery (assuming you date all the characters and try to get different endings)
• The games allow the ending to be saved-cheated so you don’t have to waste time starting a new run just to find out “what could have been”.
• Many choices are important, as they will determine whether you are successful in courting your love interest. Some options don’t seem to have any effect and are just flavor text.

Cons:

• The game takes a fair bit, and while they go on constant tangents about philosophy and the like, the dialogue can be boring.
• No 18+ scenes (this may be offensive to some)
• There is no sound
• Some jokes are repeated, e.g. Constantly breaking the 4th wall, how they have a traumatic past and will often threaten your life.
• The mini-games are just the same as the glorified skill check

This might be the best game I’ve ever played and I’ve played Ocarina of Time. This game is fun. If you like killing people irl don’t play this game. If you like kissing ghosts and reading Laffy Taffy jokes irl you will enjoy this game. you’re good at Dead by Daylight, maybe stop playing so much and play this instead.

In fact, the best game on the Internet without a doubt. Since I’m a big rebel, ever since I started the game, I thought assassins were warm afs (not Witches). This game was practically made for people like me. 9/10 Needs DLC for Oni’s father and Papi Deathslinger.

Conclusion:

Simple recommendation for DBD fans and for anyone who ventures into the world of dating sims and visual novels. The price is very affordable and it has excellent content. There are also Steam achievements in the game, and there are actually quite a few of them. Overall, it’s just good. I think I’ll play a few more scenarios to fully decide, but for now, I’ll give it a 6/10. If you really want to work towards the desired results, I recommend a basic dating sim game.
