Dungeons and Dragons: Krynn Series

One of my favorite turn-based combat games. The Krynn series is a great RPG and strategy combo. Champions and Death Knights of Kyrnn are a bit clunky, but each game in the trilogy improves QOL and Dark Queen of Krynn almost feels like a modern retro game (mouse scroll and “journal” functionality in-game can be good additions).
I have played through all 3 games many times and recently did so again. If you like TBS and tactics gameplay with some story and RPG elements included, I do recommend it. Games can be played linearly, or blindly and with an added challenge. You can make them grind if you want, farming EXP to be nearly godlike with DQK. Or, you can push the limits of level vs content and make it more challenging (far beyond the different skill levels available in the game).
While for others (especially younger players). Champions and Death Knights start out feeling antiquated and clunky, it’s amazing how well Dark Queen was for its time. These games (along with the entire Gold Box) paved the way for Baldur’s Gate, Planescape Torment, and to some extent, Fallout 1 and 2.
This would be a 10/10 for me if they included graphics improvements and more QOL improvements.
