Car Mechanic Simulator VR is the 4th CMS game I’ve bought so I’ve pretty much cut my teeth already. Having said that, there is still a learning curve for the VR version, which in its current state of 1.1, is much better than the base version.

After some initial confusion and adapting to the physical environment, I found the controls to be spot on and a pleasure to use, I really like how the parts you pick up of the car don’t just disappear into yin space ‘real child if you remove it. .but instead drop down where you can see them and interact with them. This makes ordering new parts very easy even without the quick order button from CMS 2021.

It looks great. There’s a lot of skimping on materials when VR games are put together, and CMS VR has done a good job of making sure your garage feels like it should. They’ve added interactive features to the garage, and now you can waste time being as fussy and dysfunctional as your physical shop-I haven’t put the box end wrench in the air hammer yet to see the world burn so far, but I’. m hoping to see that easter egg show up…looking at you devs.

The game has its issues, and some of them are quite annoying regarding the VR interface, how items pop up, inventory management, etc. Let’s be honest: This studio has been making 2D non-VR sims for years…the fact that their first major VR release works as well as it does can’t be underestimated. What I also saw was a ton of responsiveness and quick turnaround times for bug fixes, changes in interactions, and a willingness to vary in the direction they were headed in response to the player team’s suggestions dev is tailoring a lot of how the game works based on how we want to play it, and that speaks volumes to me. Eventually, weird stuff will work, bugs will be handled, and the game will only get better from here. It’s already definitely worth it-please don’t let the people who want it to be the perfect simulator of an inherently tedious job rob you of the chance to enjoy the game for what it is.

I would recommend this game as a definite buy for graphics enthusiasts, and a relaxing way to finish sometime in the 3rd position.
