Right Way

The gameplay of the Right Way video game finds more connecting paths, like a maze, where you can change the directions, to light up all the lamps. Each path does not need to be connected to anything.

At higher levels, you have to open the entire play area first, and/or you can change the play area, it is more difficult to find the way to light all the lamps. After 10 minutes there are musical nerves, but you have a button, no drama.

When the main mechanic is there in the game title, you can’t go wrong. The objective of Right Way is to turn the tiles to connect a yellow line from the start to one or more ends. That’s what you’ll do for 60 levels of increased difficulty.

Everything is controlled with the left mouse button, which rotates the wheel clockwise. The missing right mouse button could have been used to rotate counterclockwise, but that doesn’t matter since there are only four directions. The R type is assigned to fast restart, however, this function is useless because you cannot break the puzzle unless you need to start from scratch.

However, you don’t need to use all the shoes. To make things even easier, you can have as many dead ends or open ends as you want; the only constraint is that you tie the ends, and the rear view is irrelevant. A number of circles on the left indicate how many ends you need to connect, which is a helpful indicator.

At certain points throughout the game, new puzzles and game mechanics are introduced to keep things interesting. The most typical are various switches that rotate several connected blocks at once and show a whole new set of tiles, as well as arrows that move a whole set of blocks left or right. Since you can’t plan ahead, this makes solutions a bit more difficult. Making connections on both sides and joining them in the middle is the best way to approach a puzzle. Despite the fair difficulty level, all the puzzles may take several hours to complete.

The art is minimalistic. The puzzle takes up the entire screen without distracting you. The only other element is another circle in the upper left corner that shows a bar with previously completed puzzles that you can replay at any time.

The same minimalist approach went to the music playing one track on loop. If it starts to annoy you you can just disable it in the settings.

As long as you don’t press alt+tab on the desktop and leave the game in the background, the game is bug-free. If you do that, some shoes stop showing the yellow line. It goes back to normal when you restart, but it can cause some frustration if the solution is right there and you go to the desktop. Development does not save. Overall I recommended this game.
